Irv’s Luggage is proud to be an active and ongoing supporter of Luggage for Freedom, an initiative with the goal of providing a sense of dignity to women who are staying at and transitioning out of domestic violence and homeless shelters.
How you can help
Your donations allow us to help hundreds of women living in shelters all over the Chicagoland area. These are women escaping domestic violence situations and our support helps them and their children to start over and build new homes and lives away from the violence and turbulence. We provide a gently used suitcase filled with the necessities listed below.

Your donation of $36 will provide a filled suitcase for a woman in need.
Your donation of $36 will purchase and fill a backpack for a child in need.
Your generous donation of any amount will be used to purchase items as needed.
About Luggage For Freedom
Luggage for Freedom provides each woman with a gently used suitcase packed with new towels, new sheets, and new toiletries when they are leaving local domestic violence shelters to start their lives anew.
How We Give
We also provide backpacks filled with books, blankets and stuffed animals for children. We pack approximately 400 suitcases and 200 backpacks that are then delivered to 12 local shelters. Luggage for Freedom has an incredible ability to directly impact women and children in a positive way, at a time when they are most vulnerable.
